Our speciality is the translation of Dutch (and Flemish) into Japanese and of Japanese into Dutch (and Flemish).
We can directly create a video-file with subtitles, using our translation.

Besides this we of course offer the most popular combinations of Japanese-English-Japanese and Dutch-English-Dutch. We can also help with translation pairs that include French, German and other major or minor European languages.

In case of video translation, we can deliver the quickest turnaround and the best quality if we receive the original video data digitally over the internet. We can provide a part of our protected ftp-server for this.

オランダ語（フラマン語）から日本語への翻訳は主としてD-VECS の西川が担当者として対応しています。

担当者は日本語ネイティブで、同志社女子大学（英文学科）で英語学を専攻、さらにアメリカ・南コネティカット州立大学院で一年間の研修後、ベルギーのフランダース地方に移り、オランダ語およびフランス語を学びました。

ベルギー王国フィリップ皇太子殿下（写真はこちら）、フランダース政府大臣を始め、来日した数多くの財界人の通訳を務めた経験があります。また、さまざまなジャンルのTV番組など、映像翻訳も行っています。

翻訳（蘭=>日）では、オランダ王国核エネルギー法や税収、税務署関連の書類など法的/行政関係文書の日本語訳、また医療翻訳の分野ではオランダのメディカル・ジャーナル掲載の論文・記事、スリナム政府の医療ケアに関する白書の日本語訳などの実績があります。

また希少言語の中にはさらに、アフリカーンス語のコレスポンデンス翻訳・要約も含まれています。

For Dutch (Flemish) into Japanese, we rely mainly on D-VECS' Masako NISHIKAWA.

Masako is Japanese and went through the normal school curriculum in Japan cumulating in a BA in English Linguistics at Doshisha Women's College of Liberal Arts in Kyoto.
After this she studied for one year in the USA before moving to Flanders (Belgium) where she studied Dutch and French.
Since 25 years, Masako is living back in Japan.

Masako has interpreted for ministers of the Flemish government, for HRH Prince Philippe, Crown Prince of Belgium (photos here) and for many Flemish business managers when they visited Japan.
Masako regularly does video translation (Dutch -> Japanese) for a variety of Japanese TV broadcasters.

As translator (Dutch -> Japanese), her resume includes technology translations such as the final report of MONA regarding the storage of nuclear waste in the village of Mol in Belgium and a description of the wastewater treatment on IJseloog in The Netherlands.
She also translated into Japanese juridical/administrative texts such as the Dutch Nuclear Energy Law and documents related to the tax returns of Japanese companies in The Netherlands.
Among medical texts she handled articles of a Dutch medical journal and a white paper on health care by the government of Suriname.

An example of more exotic translation is her assistance to the Japanese prison authorities with translation into Japanese of documents in Afrikaans.

Voor Nederlands-Japans doen we in hoofdzaak beroep op D-VECS' Masako NISHIKAWA.

Masako is Japanse en heeft het normale Japanse onderwijssysteem doorlopen tot een BA in English Linguistics aan het Doshisha Women's College of Liberal Arts in Kyoto.
Hierna heeft ze een jaar in de USA gestudeerd vooraleer naar Vlaanderen (Antwerpen) te verhuizen en er Nederlands en Frans te studeren.
Masako woont al meer dan 25 jaar terug in Japan.

Masako heeft getolkt voor Vlaamse ministers, voor ZKH Prins Filip (foto's hier) en voor vele Vlaamse bedrijfsleiders tijdens hun bezoeken in Japan.
Ook verzorgt ze regelmatig het video-vertolken van het Nederlands naar het Japans voor verscheidene Japanse TV zenders.

Op vertaalgebied (Nederlands->Japans) bevat haar palmares technologie-vertalingen zoals het afsluitend rapport van MONA over de opslag van nucleair afval in Mol en een beschrijving van de waterzuivering op IJseloog in Nederland.
Op juridisch gebied vertaalde ze de Nederlandse Kernenergiewet in het Japans en deed ze vertalingen voor de Nederlandse belastingsaangifte van Japanse bedrijven.
Op medisch gebied vertaalde ze artikels uit medische vaktijdschriften. Ook vertaalde ze een whitepaper over gezondheidszorg van de regering van Suriname.

Als voorbeeld van meer exotische vertalingen, hielp ze het Japanse gevangeniswezen met vertalingen uit het Afrikaans.

翻訳者としてのキャリア以外に、現在は、都内の二松學舍大学にて特別任用准教授（英語プログラム）として教壇に立っています。また、学内においてもいくつかの翻訳プロジェクトに関わっています。

At the moment Masako combines her translation work with a position as "Project Associate Professor" in the "English Program" of Nishogakusha University. She has also been involved in some translation projects in the university.
